Description
Samsara, a pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer II to join its data and AI team. The successful candidate will help design and build data platforms, manage data APIs, and architect Spark-driven workflows at scale.
The data and AI team enables integrated data layers for Samsara, providing insights and tools for data-driven decisions. The team is composed of data engineers, AI engineers, architects, analysts, and data scientists.
As a Senior Data Engineer II, you will:
- Develop and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and backend ingestion workflows
- Work with data from various sources, including ERP, CRM, Product, Order Flow, and Support ticket data
- Manage critical data pipelines to enable growth initiatives and advanced analytics
- Facilitate data integration and transformation for moving data between applications
- Develop and improve data architecture, data quality, monitoring, observability, and data availability
- Write data transformations in SQL/Python to generate data products
- Design, build, and operate large-scale Spark and PySpark workflows
- Optimize Spark job performance and tune partitioning, shuffle, caching, and resource allocation
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of work experience as a Software Engineer with a data focus or as a Data Engineer, with 8+ years of experience building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines.
In terms of compensation, the annual base salary range for this position is $134,470-$203,400 USD. The company offers a flexible working model, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and a professional development stipend.
