Writer - American Football

Electronic Arts is seeking a Writer - American Football to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating fiction for internal teams to add definition to existing high-level creative ideas and concepts, as well as work on player-facing elements such as on-screen text, player dialogue, and broadcaster dialogue.

Responsibilities:

• Design, write, and prepare scripts for announcers for multiple different game modes, as well as for player barks and emotes
• Attend recording sessions in-studio and work with voice-over talent, producers, directors, and audio support staff to ensure that what's recorded meets the company's high-quality bar
• Write copy for in-game UI screens, tutorials, and other player-facing dialogue
• Work with implementers and audio staff to ensure that new lines are playing accurately in-game
• Participate in weekly design meetings and review sessions
• Analyze and critique current builds for quality and accuracy of writing and dialogue
• Identify areas for added depth and improvements to commentary, on-screen dialogue, and all areas of player-facing writing or commentary

Qualifications:

• Strong football knowledge, including knowledge of players, teams, recent news, history, and terminology
• Creative or video game writing background/experience
• Strong communication skills and ability to solicit feedback from the team on writing prior to deadlines
• Familiarity with and demonstrated knowledge of video games across multiple genres
• Knowledge and ability to work in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Experience as a collaborative team player who understands good fiction ideas can come from anywhere on the team
• Ability to hit writing deadlines, so that ample review can be given to content/rewrites to happen prior to sessions with commentary talent
