Description

Our DPX Packaging Operation's Technical Packaging Engineering team at Center of Excellence (COE), Myerstown site is currently seeking a co-op to assist experienced Technical Packaging Engineers in the execution of packaging evaluations and statistical process control evaluations along with packaging development tasks and project activities.

As a Technical Packaging Engineering Co-op, you will gain valuable experience in the pharmaceutical packaging environment and learn organisational responsibilities in all areas of a production site at one of the world's leading corporations.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Assume supporting role for pipeline innovations, business protection & maintenance, and design renovations;
  • Provide development support for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging;
  • Ensure on-time, in-full delivery of assigned project tasks;
  • Facilitate effective technical transfer of information to the factory / CMO;
  • Serve as a contributor to cross-functional project teams and the change management process;
  • Coordinate the review and approval of component drawings / specifications, component testing/qualification, line trials of new components, and oversee package testing;
  • Develop bill of materials and facilitate third-party process qualifications;
  • Facilitate the resolution of problems during the development process to meet customers' needs;
  • Effectively utilise key processes and tools (i.e. PLM, Barcode verification) and activities required in the package development process;
  • Partner with internal and external customers to efficiently deliver project objectives;
  • Integrate Package Engineering project tasks with Consumer Health Product Experience team;
  • Collect and analyse packaging component and sustainability data.

Requirements

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required:

  • Completion of at least 1 year, preferably 2 years, in BS studies in Packaging / Packaging Science / Packaging Engineering / Packaging Technology;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Word and Excel;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred:

  • Prior packaging experience;
  • Previous co-op experience;
  • Experience with ArtiosCAD, TOPS, CAPE, MiniTab, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software.

Benefits

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $20.75 to $58.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
