Compensation
Estimated Base Salary $175K – $250K
Airwallex promotes fair compensation practices in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local law.
These expected base pay ranges are based on information at the time this post was generated and represent the company’s good faith minimum and maximum ranges for this role at the time of posting.
The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills and other qualifications, geographic location as noted, internal equity, and other external market factors.
Certain roles may be eligible for other compensation including, but not limited to, annual bonuses, commissions, RSUs, or other forms of compensation in addition to the established salary range.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and work location. US-based employees are eligible to participate in medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits. US-based employees also receive 20 paid days of vacation and 12 paid days of company holidays in a calendar year.

The Product team at Airwallex is a group of passionate builders and problem-solvers who are obsessed with crafting customer-centric solutions that empower businesses to operate anywhere, anytime. We combine technical expertise with a deep understanding of our customers' needs to design and build unified, intuitive, and scalable products.
What you’ll do
This role will be part of the payments product team, building out our capabilities that enable businesses to collect credit card payments and other forms of payments on their website or app from consumers around the world. You’ll be working on the payment lifecycle end to end, from connections with the card schemes, authorizations, captures, refunds, and reconciliation.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for leading high-impact projects from ideation to launch on topics such as:
- Expanding our coverage of card schemes and markets to provide merchants globally the ability to acquire payments of all major card brands
- Optimizing the competitiveness of our card payments infrastructure through adoption of new industry standards and working closely with our machine learning team to increase the success rate of payments
- Building stable foundations for our payment infrastructure to scale with our business growth, reducing internal manual efforts and minimizing the risk for any service interruptions for our merchants
Who you are
We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.
Minimum qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional experience, ideally with exposure to a high-growth environment
- Bachelor's degree or above with a competitive GPA, preferably with engineering or computer science coursework
Preferred qualifications:
- Deep expertise in payment processing, working on direct integrations with Visa and MasterCard (preferably on acquiring side)
- Solid technical understanding and ability to engage in architectural discussions with engineering teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey product strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Close attention to detail, ability to structure complex problems and inform decisions with data and first-principle insights
- Drive, grit, and persistence are necessary to take ownership and move ideas to reality in short periods of time
- Ability to thrive in cross-cultural and cross-functional team
