Machining Technician

We are seeking a skilled Machining Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Morristown, TN. As a Machining Technician, you will operate machines and production equipment safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment with limited guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe work environment by stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately
• Report incidents, including work-related injuries, illnesses, and hazards, to promote a proactive safety culture
• Adhere to HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly workplace
• Use personal protective equipment consistently to protect yourself and colleagues from potential hazards
• Promote team safety by fostering a supportive and interdependent work environment
• Recognize and minimize the negative impact of your work on the environment to support sustainability efforts
• Follow standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures to maintain high product standards and reduce costs
• Participate in training and development, and engage in continuous improvement initiatives to drive team and organizational success

Requirements:

• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience
• Some work experience or intermediate-level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience
• Experience operating CNC machines (1-3 years)
• Ability to read blueprints
• Familiarity with measuring instruments
• Basic math skills (decimals, fractions, tolerances)
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere
