Application Support Specialist

The Application Support Specialist will provide first-line application support for several equity and derivative markets operated by the London Stock Exchange PLC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to incidents in a timely manner, carrying out known workarounds and resolving them
• Escalate issues to DevOps Teams as needed
• Research incidents, provide workarounds, create articles and resolutions, or divert to alternative resolver groups when necessary
• Ensure customer experience goals are met
• Work in an environment where IT Service Management Processes such as Incident, Problem and Change Management procedures need to be adhered to
• Keep relevant teams advised on the progress of their issue or problem
• Provide left-shift support for L2 teams by supporting incident resolutions, automation tasks, deployments, change management tasks, cloud compliance management tasks, etc.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, IT, or related field
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in ITSM/AWS cloud-based environment will be an added advantage
• Understanding of application support with some exposure to Unix-based operating systems, business-critical applications, enterprise monitoring tools
• Ability to run with projects/issues solo as well as work in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesizing skills
• Willingness to work different hours (UK Shift)
