Description
SpaceXAI is seeking a Shipping Specialist to support its data center operations in Memphis, Tennessee, and Southaven, Mississippi.
As a Shipping Specialist, you will be responsible for the expedient and accurate movement of high-value materials and equipment needed to support construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process inbound and outbound material through ERP/WMS systems, partnering with procurement, construction, facilities, and operations teams.
- Package, label, and manifest parcel, LTL, and large freight shipments to protect product integrity.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders for pick-up and delivery, preparing shipping labels and required documents.
- Verify accuracy of shipping information and inspect/package products for shipment.
- Determine the most cost-effective and efficient shipping methods, tracking and monitoring shipments.
- Perform cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Lead problem-solving for transportation issues and maintain system integrity.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment per safety procedures.
- Evaluate hazardous or sensitive materials and apply appropriate packaging/transport methods.
- Coordinate with internal material handlers/drivers to expedite material.
- Maintain strong communication and customer relationships with internal requestors and destination teams.
- Collaborate with the team to identify process improvements.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 3+ years of shipping, logistics, warehousing, or materials management experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in freight, expedited shipping, or high-volume manufacturing/technology/data center environments.
- Experience with international shipping, export regulations, and customs documentation.
- Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, regulations, and documentation.
- Familiarity with shipping software and ERP/WMS systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask/prioritize.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Forklift or material handling equipment certification.
- Hazmat awareness or relevant certification.
- Strong computer skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be available for one of the following 12.5-hour shifts: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM.
- Work schedule follows a rotating pattern of 4 days on / 3 days off, then 3 days on / 4 days off.
- Must be open to working all required shift hours, including nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
