Sr. Software Engineer, Payments Quality

VGS is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer, Payments Quality to join their Payments Engineering team. The successful candidate will serve as a key technical practitioner and quality champion, responsible for setting, building, and enforcing world-class quality standards across core payment systems.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software engineering experience focusing on quality engineering, test automation framework design, and performance testing for complex, high-throughput distributed systems. They will be responsible for:

• Architecting and embedding quality benchmarks, building automated guardrails, and ensuring rigorous end-to-end validation happens automatically
• Driving performance and stress testing, architecting and executing high-concurrency load, stress, and latency testing
• Pioneering AI-native software engineering focused on quality, integrating AI-assisted developer tools and agentic workflows into test creation, synthetic data generation, and automated edge-case analysis
• Implementing robust telemetry and telemetry-driven test environments using tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• Partnering with feature teams to build "Golden Paths" for automated testing and mentoring team members on quality engineering best practices
