Airbnb is seeking a Complex Claims Manager to join the AirCover team, responsible for designing, creating, launching, and managing the AirCover activity within Airbnb. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in protecting the integrity of the AirCover platform by determining, analysing, and effectively managing risk mitigation strategies to resolve complex and significant loss claims.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate complex claims, including those affecting Airbnb Financials and the company's captive insurance company
• Develop plans to resolve complex claims, collaborating with internal and external partners, including insurers, lawyers, and third-party administrators
• Analyse and interpret insurance policy language and relevant case law to make informed decisions on coverage
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to manage emerging risks and ensure business growth across various markets
• Identify gaps in intelligence and risk, working with internal risk management teams, third-party experts, and partners to strengthen the Airbnb platform
• Provide regular reporting on claims activities and performance metrics

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in insurance claims coverage and litigation, with a focus on liability and property
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, regions, and hierarchical levels
• Experience working with internal stakeholders and/or third-party vendors to resolve complex disputes
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
