We are looking for a Digital Quality Engineering Specialist to join our pool of quality specialists at Anduril. This is the first of its kind and will develop core processes to help scale to meet capacity at HQ and other sites.
As a Digital Quality Engineering Specialist, you will bridge the gap between manufacturing operations and multiple digital systems. You will troubleshoot and resolve production issues rooted in the Quality Management System (QMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ensuring data accuracy, material containment, and seamless quality engineering workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Quality Systems Subject Matter Experts for insight and actions to understand the functional design and expectations for the digital QMS.
- Work alongside Quality Engineers to operationalize their system parameter updates and ensure they are flawlessly executed in the MES.
- Investigate and resolve production and quality system issues that originate from gaps or errors in the various applications supporting the digital QMS.
- Partner with Quality Engineers to audit, align, and correct data attributes within ERP, PLM, and MES to ensure production alignment and execution.
- Reconcile inventory transactions associated with non-conformances and variances in the digital transactions associated with quality.
- Identify digital anomalies affecting product quality, analyze the root cause, and implement immediate systemic corrections.
- Create troubleshooting guides for users to resolve future issues.
- Support User Acceptance testing for new solutions, fixes, and work-arounds.
- Ensure data collection and entry is accurate and complete for the MRB, IQC, non-conformance, containments, inventory transactions & process through auditing.
- Communicate the process performance and quality system issues to key stakeholders to drive improvements.
- Propose, develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures and review with the Quality Systems Subject Matter Experts.
- Collaborate with CorpTech and Production teams to bridge system communication gaps, ensuring that material movement rules align with quality standards.
- Review and propose continuous improvement projects for productivity gains, quality improvements, and benefits to Anduril's quality policy.
- Perform internal audits on processes and procedures, as per direction from Quality Systems Engineer.
- Deep dive into data and traceability investigations to identify trends, oddities, inconsistencies, and variation that impacts the effectiveness of processes, procedures, and product quality.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ year of managing, troubleshooting digital process, front line support for quality applications and software tools.
- 5+ years of experience in metrology inspection or quality role.
- Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and inspection data management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while responding to urgent production issues.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Exceptional ability to track material flow, map system transactions, and diagnose data discrepancies.
- Experience with non-conformance systems, software debug, and user acceptance testing of application.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings (wire diagrams, work instructions, CAD).
- Experience in a facility with AS9100, ISO9001, IATF 16949 or similar QMS standard.
- Experience with communicating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access controlled data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical or Associates degree in related quality/mechanical/aerospace engineering field.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, or equivalent.
- IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-620 Certification.
- Knowledge of 6 sigma, TQM, TPS, Lean, Low Rate Production.
- Six Sigma Green/White Belt or ASQ Certifications (e.g., CQE, CQA) are highly desirable.
- Experience with Manufacturing processes and their related systems (Jira, MES, ERP, Teamcenter, CAD).
- Experience with auditing processes and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Detail-oriented self-starter with minimal oversight.
- Strong ability to communicate with different cross-functional teams.
