Sr. Accountant, DC Construction - Project Accounting

We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join our Finance team. As the hands-on owner of day-to-day accounting for capital costs on our data center build program, you will maintain records of capital activity, prepare entries for cost capitalization, and manage reconciliations and supporting schedules. You will work closely with teams across accounting, finance, construction, and operations.

Responsibilities:

• Daily management of capital activity, including maintaining records and reviewing invoices
• Project setup and cost structure support, including setting up project structures and hierarchies
• Accruals and cost-to-complete schedules, including preparing monthly accruals and cost-to-complete views
• Capitalization and useful life support, including preparing supporting analysis for in-service and capitalization decisions
• Reconciliation and reporting, including preparing period-end reconciliations and investigating outstanding items
• Controls, audit, and improvement, including maintaining process documentation and supporting internal and external audits

Requirements:

• 3+ years of accounting experience with a background in capital, construction, or fixed asset accounting
• Demonstrated experience preparing accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Working understanding of US GAAP and experience with SOX control environments
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
• Ability to work cross-functionally with non-accounting teams and exercise sound judgment in high-growth environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current fixed asset or capital accounting background in data centers or comparable capital-intensive infrastructure
• Exposure to project costing modules or construction cost systems
• Public accounting experience or CPA candidacy
• Experience working with AI tools
