Manager, Ocean Procurement

The Ocean team at Flexport works globally to ensure smooth business operations and provide the best ocean product for clients. As a Procurement Manager, you will be integral to achieving Flexport's growth goals, focusing on the Transpacific-Eastbound (TPEB) trade.

Responsibilities:

• Drive ocean carrier procurement for TPEB, leading carrier development and partnerships.
• Coordinate and negotiate procurement activities across various timeframes.
• Develop scalable procurement processes and tools.
• Lead rate setting and strategy during RFP seasons.
• Collaborate with commercial and demand teams to win new business and execute current business plans.
• Educate the broader organization on carrier and tradelane intelligence.
• Lead cross-team meetings and work with colleagues in Asia to execute trade strategies.
• Handle escalations to keep business operations smooth.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of ocean procurement experience or relevant supply chain experience.
• Strategic vision and process improvement skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to travel and manage people.
• Compliance-focused mindset.
