Description
We are seeking a Design Engineer to create and manage design documentation for components and assemblies in powertrain systems and complete vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models for components and assemblies according to project-related design and CAD guidelines.
- Develop 2D-CAD drawings for manufacturing based on valid standards and latest production technologies.
- Perform continuous data quality and plausibility checks, and exchange data with internal departments and external partners.
- Conduct regular design checks to ensure compliance with package boundaries, assembly processes, and manufacturability.
- Maintain and update component documentation in the AVL-PDM System and AVL Powertrain Database.
- Support lead engineers and project managers during project execution.
- Provide technical support for resident engineers.
- Assist in creating documentation for training, knowledge management, and patents.
- Support AVL internal part procurement through information exchange with customers and suppliers.
- Execute engineering layout calculations and simplified simulations for part and assembly optimization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Practical work experience in the design of powertrain and/or vehicle components.
- Proficiency in handling one or more 3D CAD systems (ideally Catia and Solidworks).
- Experience in defining and applying shape, orientation, and location tolerances.
- Familiarity with applicable standards and processes in the automotive industry.
- Experience in the design and industrialization of sheet metal components and welded assemblies.
- English language skills (business fluent).
- Experience in intercultural teamwork and excellent communication skills.
- Availability for business trips.
We offer an indicative starting compensation of 32,000 € per year. The final offer will be determined based on experience, skills, and level of responsibility.
