Description
Practice Plus Group is seeking experienced Advanced Nurses or Clinical Practitioners to join our Out of Hours team. As a leading provider of urgent care services across the UK, we deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients outside regular GP hours.
The role involves assessing and treating patients requiring urgent unscheduled intervention suitable for general practice clinicians when GP surgeries are closed. Referrals come from NHS 111, a dedicated healthcare professional line, or the AED/MIU.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for patients of all ages
- Conducting face-to-face consultations and managing a varied caseload, including acute minor illnesses and exacerbations of chronic conditions
- Assisting with telephone triage and providing expert clinical advice
- Utilising the Adastra clinical system to record consultations and clinical notes
- Dispensing medications from stock when required
- Working autonomously while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
- Making appropriate referrals to secondary care and ensuring patient safety
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent
- Experience within Out of Hours, Primary Care GP Surgery, or Urgent Treatment Centre
- Holder of V300 / Non-Medical Prescribing qualification and minimum 6 months experience post qualification
- Ability to autonomously see and treat patients of all ages
- Confident clinical decision-maker with strong assessment skills
- Excellent communicator with a patient-centred approach
- Flexible, self-motivated, and committed to ongoing professional development
We offer flexible shift patterns and a salary ranging from £42.84 to £47.94 per hour, depending on the shift.
The position is bank-based, part-time, and flexible, with a duration of 12 years. The location is Epsom General Hospital, Dorking Road, Epsom, Surrey, KT18 7EG.
