Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Chihuahua, Mexico.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience with automation systems, including PLCs, robots, and variable frequency drives.

Responsibilities:

• Use Vis Plant monitoring software to review cycle times of automation and follow up on automation projects and installations
• Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and other automation problems supporting day-to-day production issues
• Reprogram automation for engineering changes and improvements
• Define, design, and maintain the plant controls strategy
• Review, approve, and load machine controls software
• Conduct Machine Acceptance for new and retooled equipment
• Review and approve technical drawings
• Prepare projects to improve machine controls and issue PIRs and orders
• Conduct technical reviews of recaps
• Provide technical support for energy efficiency activities
• Coordinate and support vendor installations in the plant

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 2+ years of related experience
• Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls (RSLogix)
• Electrical background (electrician or technician)
• Experience with Allen Bradley Panel View, AB Servo, and AB VFD drives
• Familiarity with VFDs, Armor starts, encoders, and network/Ethernet controls
• Strong problem-solving skills, including 8Ds, FMEAs, and DMAICs
• Ability to independently troubleshoot all body equipment
• Fanuc robot experience
• Kawasaki programming, RS Logics, Microsoft Office
• PLC experience
• Ability to read prints, AutoCAD, interpret and modify electrical schematics
• Experienced in laser burning
• Strong understanding of conveyors system programming and body tooling techniques
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
