Description

We are seeking a Repo Trader to join our Asia team in Tokyo. The role will support the day-to-day management of repo and fixed income financing activities across APAC markets, in close partnership with portfolio managers, traders, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution, monitoring, and booking of repo and related financing transactions across APAC markets.
  • Monitor financing levels, collateral allocation, counterparty usage, and market developments relevant to repo and fixed income financing activities.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including portfolio managers, traders, risk, middle office, operations, and settlements, recognizing the respective responsibilities of each function and fostering effective day-to-day collaboration across the platform.
  • Contribute to the analysis of market conditions, financing trends, and collateral dynamics across regional fixed income markets.
  • Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with internal risk standards, controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support projects aimed at enhancing desk efficiency, controls, reporting, and workflow processes through the use of technology and automation tools.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Approximately 5-10 years of experience in repo, fixed income, rates, treasury, financing, or a related markets function preferred.
  • Good understanding of fixed income products, financing markets, and collateral management concepts.
  • Technologically proficient, comfortable leveraging AI-enabled tools and coding assistants, with a proactive interest in new technology trends would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced markets environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge of APAC repo markets and local market practices would be beneficial.
