Description
NVIDIA, a leader in computer graphics and AI computing, is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to join its Chips System Software team. The successful candidate will work on architecting and developing the boot firmware for flagship CPUs used in high-compute platforms for automotive, datacenter, and other critical applications.
The role involves building and developing the Manageability Software stack environment, participating in embedded bare-metal development for Tegra chips, and collaborating with hardware architecture teams to improve architecture performance. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in computer engineering or a related field, excellent C and Python programming skills, and a strong understanding of operating systems, kernel programming, and hardware architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and build the Manageability Software stack environment as part of the Tegra Core Firmware Team.
- Apply strong communication skills to develop software, drive ideas, and analyze documents.
- Participate in embedded bare-metal development for Tegra chips and connect these activities to server management protocols and standards.
- Collaborate with hardware architecture teams to improve architecture and performance.
- Develop partnerships with internal and external team members.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with a BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Outstanding C and Python programming abilities.
- Strong desire to continuously improve processes and tools using AI.
- Experience with server management protocols such as IPMI, MCTP, and PLDM.
- Strong understanding of multicore hardware, operating systems, concurrency, virtual memory, caching, interrupts, device drivers, and real-time programming.
- Extensive experience with Linux kernel software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience analyzing, debugging, and tuning complex system software stacks.
- Knowledge of OpenBMC and virtualization platforms (KVM, QEMU).
- Experience with AI tools such as Codex.
- Deep understanding of system-level architecture.
