Description
This position is responsible for leading multiple and complex Pipeline Safety Management (PSM), Operations, Technology Organisation (TO), and Compliance projects and programs sponsored by Senior Management for Southern Company Gas Shared Services and subsidiaries.
The Project Manager will coordinate Southern Company Gas's participation in the annual American Gas Association (AGA) Best Practice Benchmarking Program, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and produce operational benchmarking measures, and formulate operational benchmarking reports for executive leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating AGA Best Practices Benchmarking Program participation
- Developing operational benchmarking measures and reports
- Providing research support for Operations and Compliance trends
- Using analytical tools such as Power BI and Excel to process data
- Leading multiple complex Operations and Compliance projects and programs
- Evaluating and incorporating local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Conducting detailed analytics to support Operations and Compliance educational learnings
- Facilitating joint analysis sessions with customers and stakeholders
- Collaborating with project team members and stakeholders to monitor project budget, goals, and milestones
- Writing documentation supporting Operations and Compliance policies and procedures
The successful candidate will have a BA/BS degree in engineering, computer science, accounting, or a related discipline, with 3-4 years of progressive experience in broad-based business and process development, and 2+ years of experience managing process projects.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Six Sigma and/or Total Quality Management Certification or training
- Extensive field operations experience in a gas utility, pipeline transmission, or other energy-related field
