Special Education Academic Coach I

We are seeking a Special Education Academic Coach I to assist students with diverse needs in accessing our general education curriculum. As a Special Education Academic Coach I, you will ensure that students receive individualized attention, facilitate small group and individual instruction, and monitor student progress.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with instruction and supervision of students with learning differences
• Facilitate tutorial activities for individuals or groups of students with learning differences
• Monitor student progress and provide input for evaluation and parent conferences upon request
• Establish rapport and meaningful relationships with referred students to improve their behavior, educational performance, and social relationships
• Perform clerical support duties, including typing, completing documents, and record-keeping

Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED and an associate's degree or higher, or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university, or meeting a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrating knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics
• Experience in a school/learning environment preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

This is an hourly position that can work variable hours up to 35 per week. The salary range is $20-$24.38 per hour.
