WSP is seeking an Assistant Vice President - Fire & Life Safety for their Orlando, FL office, with other locations considered including Fort Myers and Miami. This role involves providing strategic direction, technical expertise, and managerial guidance to ensure high-quality fire protection and life safety solutions.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of fire protection and life safety engineers
- Providing expert technical guidance and oversight
- Driving continuous improvement in design methodologies and technological advancements
- Recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top-tier talent
- Leading fire protection and building code consulting efforts
- Collaborating with project managers and cross-functional teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required
- 15+ years of industry experience, with 5+ years as a team leader or staff manager
- Proven leadership skills and ability to inspire high-performing teams
- Deep understanding of Building and Fire Codes, Standards, and Regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training
