Description
Cisco is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join the MX QA team. The team ensures the end-to-end system of the Cisco Meraki MX and Cisco Catalyst product line is ready to use.
As a Senior SDET, your responsibility includes designing and building testbeds, creating and executing integrated/application tests that resemble customer use-cases for SD-WAN and Security solutions, and contributing to industry-leading technologies in the cloud ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the use cases/workflows of the MX solution deployed in the customer environment.
- Participate in requirements/design discussions with Product managers & development team and represent the QA team.
- Design a test strategy document for the Cisco MX features and collaborate with other QA and development teams.
- Execute tests and report test results and metrics.
- Develop automation scripts ahead of feature testing to enable CI/CD.
- Evaluate and develop simple features when required with Test Driven Development approach.
- Evaluate and provide a fix for defects identified during testing.
- Invest in AI-driven innovation and out-of-the-box thinking to foster originality of ideas.
- Analyse test gaps that resulted in customer issues and incorporate them into the test strategy.
- Proactively identify gaps in the regression test automation and improve automation coverage.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in Software Development Engineer in Test in routing or SD-WAN domain with at least 5+ years of Automation/Development experience.
- In-depth knowledge of SD-WAN, Security, Layer-2, and Layer-3.
- Proficiency in writing quality code with one of the programming languages such as Ruby, Python, and Golang.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and Gen-AI prompting techniques.
- Good understanding of traffic generators and ability to explore tools and techniques.
- Effective communication skills and proven track record of collaboration with stakeholders.
