Description
As a Customer Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd, you will be responsible for delivering customer orders straight to their doorsteps. You will be the face of Sainsbury's at every doorstep, making customers feel valued through a thoughtful, friendly, and helpful delivery service.
You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries to customers on time and in great condition. You will complete checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean, and organised, and that customers' shopping is secure before setting off.
You will be required to communicate brilliantly with customers, including keeping them informed of any delays, dealing with customer queries, and any changes to their order.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver customer orders on time and in great condition
- Complete checks on the van and customers' shopping
- Communicate with customers and provide excellent customer service
- Drive safely in a variety of locations, traffic, weather, and road conditions
- Move containers weighing up to 15kg and deliver shopping to a variety of properties
Requirements:
- Friendly and welcoming, with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers
- Comfortable driving a larger vehicle safely in different locations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical, and high-energy environment
- Able to use initiative, solve problems, and make safe decisions while out on the road
- Enjoys both working independently while also thriving as part of the wider store team
