Description
WSP is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join their Ontario Bridge Team, based in either Ottawa or Kingston office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preliminary and detailed design of bridges and other civil structures for federal, provincial, and municipal clients in Ontario and Canada.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the preliminary and detailed design of complex bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other civil structures
- Performing and coordinating structural analysis and design
- Managing bridge engineering projects, coordinating design teams, and supporting project management and technical teams
- Preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and reports
- Providing QA/QC and peer-review services for designs and drawings
- Reviewing shop drawings and providing engineering support during construction
- Contributing to proposal development and technical write-ups
- Providing technical guidance and direction to intermediate and junior engineers, support staff, contractors, and/or vendors
Requirements:
- University degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (licensed with PEO) with 7-12 years demonstrated experience in the area of structural design and bridge engineering in Canada
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering is considered an asset
- Ability to work and converse in French is considered an asset
- Superior technical understanding, design abilities, and up-to-date knowledge of current bridge technologies
- Proficiency in structural analysis software used in bridge design and assessment
- Experience with inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation of existing structures
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on several projects at a time with multiple design teams
- A valid driver's license
Compensation:
- $123,300 - $169,800 (MB & ON)
