Description
We are seeking a Product Manager, AI Capabilities to join our team at Perplexity. You will work closely with design and engineering to focus on the foundational AI capabilities that make our products more powerful, extensible, collaborative, and useful.
The AI Capabilities team owns the product structures that turn intelligence into repeatable, composable experiences. This includes Skills that teach Computer how to work, collaboration that helps people and agents build together, artifact generation that turns ideas into polished outputs, and Projects that organize context, knowledge, and ongoing work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Anticipating opportunities for innovation and value in reusable, composable AI capabilities.
- Envisioning and delivering a long-term vision for Skills, collaboration, artifact generation, and Projects.
- Understanding the levers for capability discovery, adoption, reuse, sharing, and ecosystem growth.
- Working closely with engineering and design to align product expectations with model, tool, and platform capabilities.
- Working with research to evaluate and steer nondeterministic models, tools, and agents into high-value outcomes for users.
- Making difficult product decisions in the face of uncertainty.
- Developing a deep understanding of how individuals and teams create, customize, collaborate, and build repeatable workflows with AI.
- Making complex AI behavior understandable and controllable through clear interaction models, thoughtful defaults, permissions, and well-designed feedback.
- Driving alignment when capabilities span Computer, Search, Projects, artifacts, connectors, or multiple teams.
- Communicating product decisions, tradeoffs, progress, and learnings clearly to leadership and cross-functional partners.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience with product management and leadership.
- Strong experience working with data and metrics.
- Experience building AI-native productivity, collaboration, platform, or developer-facing products.
- Experience with agentic systems, tool use, evaluations, extensibility, or workflow orchestration.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and designing systems that produce high-quality artifacts.
- Experience building data-driven flywheels for iterative improvement.
- Ability to thrive in a small, agile team with initiative and desire for ownership.
- 4+ years of product management experience.
In terms of compensation, we offer a range of $230K - $330K, along with equity, and a comprehensive benefits program.
