Description
The Walt Disney Company is seeking an Asset Protection Specialist to support a safe and secure environment for Cast Members and Guests at the Disney Store.
This role involves proactive deterrence, identification, and resolution of suspicious activity and potential unsafe behaviors. The ideal candidate will act as a visible deterrent to potential risk, conduct onsite security/safety inspections, support emergency preparedness and crisis response programs, and collaborate with Store Leadership and Corporate Asset Protection.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a visible deterrent to potential risk at store entrances/exits and throughout the site
- Conducting onsite security/safety inspections and responding to identified risks
- Supporting emergency preparedness and crisis response programs
- Collaborating with Store Leadership on deterrence and response to aggressive theft activity and organized retail crime
- Conducting 24/7 camera and alarm monitoring, incident notification, investigation, and case management documentation
- Screening Cast Member and vendor site access security
- Acting as a law enforcement liaison and security/safety point of contact
- Demonstrating and acting in accordance with Disney values, behaviors, and guidelines
- Utilizing specialized training related to Retail Counter-Terrorism and TWDC Workplace Security Programs
Requirements:
- 3+ years of Asset Protection/Loss Prevention/Security experience in a retail or hospitality environment
- Attention to detail, prioritization, and task management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Physical demands include lifting boxes up to 40 pounds and climbing a ladder
- Full availability to work any schedule on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and a few shifts during the week
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years of Asset Protection/Loss Prevention/Security experience
- Understanding of Loss Prevention and Security procedures, regulations, and practices
- Basic Safety practices and procedures knowledge
- Experience with retail CCTV systems
- New York State Security license
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Preferred degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, or a related field
