Applications Engineer, Sr Engineer

You are a passionate engineer with a deep understanding of optics and photonics, eager to solve challenging engineering problems and make a significant impact in the industry. Your expertise spans theoretical knowledge and practical application, enabling you to bridge the gap between customer needs and product capabilities.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Applying your deep optics and photonics engineering expertise to provide high-level technical support for Ansys Lumerical customers and channel partners.
• Owning customer problems, proactively engaging with key accounts, and delivering comprehensive solutions throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle.
• Conducting introductory, intermediate, and advanced training sessions for customers, and scoping/delivering professional services projects.
• Gathering customer requirements and market trends to inform improvements to Ansys software; collaborating with product development teams to translate feedback into new features.
• Testing new software releases on real-world industrial problems and providing feedback to enhance product performance and usability.
• Participating in internal initiatives to share knowledge, establish best practices, and develop simulation solutions and FAQs for the knowledge base.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Optoelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a minimum professional experience of 2 years in a relevant engineering domain.
• Solid knowledge of optical and photonics theory, with practical application in simulation environments.
• Familiarity with Ansys Lumerical or other commercial optical/photonics simulation tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills, capable of simplifying and addressing complex engineering challenges.
• Proficiency in English and at least one local language.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
