As a Staff Engineer, you will be a leader within the team and a strong contributor to the engineering organization. You will build both back-end and front-end systems, and work closely with designers, product managers, researchers, and data analysts. You will coach and mentor other engineers and partner closely with the Engineering Manager to develop the team and to devise technical strategy.
Responsibilities
As an experienced engineer you will:
- Contribute to the technical architecture as the company grows, scaling to service requests from all customers' customers.
- Care about agility as much as scalability and availability, focusing on continuous deployment and incremental releases.
- Contribute to all phases of software development including ideation, prototyping, design, and implementation.
- Build using the best tools in the industry, investing heavily in AI-powered developer tools.
- Play an active role in hiring, mentoring, and career development of other engineers.
- Raise the bar for technical standards, performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Ideally, you've built an exciting SaaS product in previous roles and have seen the satisfaction of people around the world using something you've created.
- Significant, demonstrated impact of your work on the product and/or teams.
- Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language (e.g., Ruby, Python, Perl).
- Experience with distributed systems.
- 2+ years of experience as the primary technical leader for a team.
- Experience collaborating directly with product teams and designers, and a proven track record of delivering value to customers or users.
