Manager, Software Engineering

As a hands-on Manager for one of our core services teams, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the design and development of some of our early-stage, innovative products.

Responsibilities

• Be a strong partner to the product and other engineering teams, driving improvements in business metrics and building new features.
• Drive the design and implementation of new product areas and features.
• Guide your team through ambiguity and ensure technical excellence through rapid experimentation cycles.
• Guide your team to strong execution,make pragmatic decisions, help them launch MVPs quickly, and iterate based on feedback.
• Lead your team through frequent pivots and evolving priorities in a fast-changing environment.
• Recruit other great engineers for your team and support recruiting efforts across teams.
• Mentor and coach the engineers on your team.
• Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high-quality products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years of experience leading a smaller team as a manager.
• You're just as energized diving into architecture, writing clean, scalable code, and solving challenging technical problems as you are mentoring engineers, shaping team culture, and driving delivery.
• You can work comfortably with a cross-functional team of PMs, Analysts, and mobile and back-end-focused engineers.
• You have led a team that consistently delivered high-quality output on critical infrastructure projects.
• You are a creative, tenacious problem solver with a get-it-done attitude.
• You tend to be the standard bearer who takes a great deal of pride in your work and can inspire others to rise to the occasion.
• You can create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work.

Preferred Skills

• C#, .NET/.NET Core, Kotlin, Python, SQL, Databricks, AWS, REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, Kafka, CI/CD, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar tools) as part of your software development workflow.
• Experience in fintech is a plus.
• Experience leading the design, implementation, and deployment of high-scale cross-functional payments systems.
