Working as a Starbucks Barista at Target means being part of a team that provides an exceptional guest experience. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, preparing handcrafted beverages and food, and maintaining a clean and organised store environment.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing a consistent Starbucks experience for guests
- Preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food
- Maintaining a clean and organised store environment
- Supporting team efforts and assisting peers in other areas
- Adjusting to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience
- Upholding and maintaining the execution of Food & Beverage Standards
- Executing food and beverage processes, including replenishment, inventory accuracy, and food safety
- Supporting the Starbucks Drive Up process to ensure digital guest orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
- Maintaining an inviting dining area for guests throughout your shift
- Engaging with guests to meet and exceed their expectations based on Starbucks standards
- Producing handcrafted beverages and food to specifications on recipe cards
- Following all food safety requirements and best practices
- Completing and recording all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space
- Locating and identifying damaged, recalled, or expired items and processing according to best practices
- Ensuring accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices
- Following proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure accurate recording of inventory
- Executing sampling best practices
- Completing all required training requirements and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products
- Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
- Working in a safe manner at all times and complying with all safety policies, best practices, and training
- Supporting guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up, and Drive-up
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous Starbucks or food service experience (preferred but not required)
- A welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Ability to resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
- Access to all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
- Ability to interpret instructions, reports, and information
- Accurately handling cash register operations as needed
- Ability to climb up and down ladders if needed
- Scanning, handling, and moving merchandise efficiently and safely
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays)
- Ability to work in environments that include refrigeration and freezer temperatures and conditions
- Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
