As an Electrical Test Engineer within the Electromagnetic Warfare team, you will be responsible for ensuring that systems are tested to stringent standards, consistently shipping high-quality products to customers, and meeting required throughput requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain ownership of test activities in production and ensure production test flow.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex electrical issues found during testing.
- Maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream.
- Improve and sustain existing test systems to improve automation, consistency, total cycle time, and test coverage.
- Generate test work instructions and train technicians on equipment use.
- Develop a library of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides.
- Determine root cause of product failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Work with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support customer returns and failure analysis.
- Contribute feedback to early-stage test design.
- Analyze test data and provide detailed reports.
- Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback and recommendations.
- Optimize test strategies for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment.
- Familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS.
- Experience with contract manufacturers in the testing of PCBA/electronic assemblies.
- Thorough knowledge of PCBA testing standards and methods.
- Familiarity with electronics test equipment.
- Strong root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Familiar with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Test Execution Systems (TES).
- Experience working on projects that involve the integration of electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
