As a Senior Accountant, you will partner closely with cross-functional partners to ensure the accuracy of Twilio's carrier COGS. You will leverage your experience in automation and data analysis to build and maintain robust processes for contract review, accruals and flux analysis, and provide real-time insights that improve the speed and accuracy of our monthly close.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the dedicated Accounting partner to the Carrier Operations team, streamlining information flow and accelerating data integrity between systems.
- Read, analyze, and document the financial and accounting implications of complex carrier agreements.
- Support the COGS Accounting team in preparing complex accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Own the monthly P&L and Balance Sheet fluctuation analyses for carrier cost accounts.
- Ensure complete compliance with SOX controls, maintain comprehensive accounting policy documentation, and serve as a key point of contact for external auditors regarding carrier COGS.
- Actively identify process inefficiencies, understand root cause and build systematic solutions using Twilio's stack of AI tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or a highly quantitative field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting (Big 4/National) with a fast-growing technology, telecommunications, or CPaaS environment.
- Solid foundational knowledge of US GAAP, operational month-end close structures, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets capabilities.
- Hands-on experience using AI and automation tools like Alteryx, UiPath, Gemini and NotebookLM.
- Extreme ownership, structural organization, and a knack for solving ambiguous, messy operational data problems.
- Flawless written and verbal communication skills in English.
