Description
WSP is seeking a full-time Vice President, Estimating to provide realistic cost estimates for complex projects. The successful candidate will gather and analyze data to prepare cost estimates, review estimates prepared by junior staff, and ensure accuracy considering all risk factors.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze scope of work from existing conditions, plans, and specifications
- Perform accurate quantity surveys for construction systems and materials
- Obtain labor rates, taxes, and insurance requirements for estimate development
- Develop contractor-style construction cost estimates and prepare basis of estimate
- Ensure all estimates are accurate and consider all risk factors
- Review designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness and suggest alternatives
- Create detailed owner's cost estimates for scope changes, work delays, etc.
- Assist Resident Engineers and Project Managers with change analysis and budget development
- Maintain awareness of contract issues and project participants
- Participate in client and contractor negotiations to resolve contract changes and claims
- Participate in client or 3rd party reconciliations
- Perform other duties and projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, Construction Management, or equivalent
- 12+ years of related experience in construction estimating
- Demonstrated experience working on complex multi-year, multi-million dollar projects
- Experience with estimating software applications such as Spreadsheet, HCSS Heavy Bid, Sage Timberline
- Strong knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam software and MS Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of HCSS HeavyBid estimating software
- Estimating certification from AACEI or ASPE
- Construction contractor estimating experience

Compensation:
- Expected Salary: $220,000-225,000/year
