6th-8th Grade ELA/Social Studies Teacher

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified 6th-8th Grade ELA/Social Studies Teacher at Broadway Academy at Mount Pleasant in Cleveland, Ohio. The teacher will provide a superior education for all students.

Broadway Academy at Mount Pleasant is an award-winning public charter school for EK-8th grade students, celebrating over 10 years of service to the community. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as needed during the school year
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and development
• Utilise research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction
• Manage student behaviour in the classroom
• Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in
• Utilise school-approved curricula reflecting diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms
• Communicate with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice
• Participate in non-instructional activities and collaborate with colleagues

Requirements:

• Active Ohio teaching license in the relevant content area
• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
• Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage confidential information and supervise students
• Pass federal and state criminal background checks
• Experience working in an urban environment
