We are seeking an investigator with a passion for safety, employee relations, and conducting robust investigations in a dynamic environment who appreciates the important role employee relations professionals play in supporting our values and culture and will carry out duties with the highest integrity.

Our team is part of the incredible transformation underway at Ford Motor Company and you’ll have a chance to be a part of that movement. This role requires the investigator to be in the plant at least four days per week, for various shifts. Travel outside of Michigan may occasionally be required to assist other facilities across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate threat and assault allegations within manufacturing and parts distribution. Additionally, this position may be required to investigate other workplace issues raised through internal Company channels and some externally filed complaints, including complaints of employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other violations of Company policy
  • Exhibit sound judgment in recommending outcomes for investigations
  • Analyze behavior to identify concerning and potentially escalating situations
  • Partner with Human Resources, Labor Relations, and the Security team to ensure proper handling and disposition of these cases involving union represented and salaried employees
  • Work with various Company functions, operating committee members, the Office of the General Counsel, and outside counsel on related issues
  • Prepare, track, and maintain appropriate investigation documentation
  • Develop and implement investigation plans
  • Drive timely closure of open cases/concerns
  • Manage employee data and statements in a highly confidential manner
  • Draft concise and clear investigation reports
  • Partner cross functionally on investigations, discipline, performance management, and other aspects of employee relations
  • Serve as a strategic partner, promoting ethical, compliant, and safe behavior that is aligned with company policy and government regulations, with fair and equal treatment for the workforce
  • Support grievance, arbitration and litigation process from an investigations standpoint
  • Analyze case activity and determine trends/recommendations for proactive actions
  • Foster an effective, inclusive work environment/culture and relationships, balancing employee advocacy with stewardship of company goals and values

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of investigative experience, corporate security, human resources investigations, or law enforcement
  • Strong objective interviewing, crisis de-escalation, emotional intelligence, threat assessment, meticulous report-writing and documentation.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
