Own and drive strategic platform and market infrastructure initiatives within the Post-Trade Division relating to HKEX's Core Climate ecosystem and broader climate-related market infrastructure developments, providing end-to-end delivery leadership from requirements definition through implementation and operational readiness.
The Assistant Vice President will lead complex platform and market infrastructure initiatives while remaining hands-on across business analysis, operating model design, requirements management, testing, implementation planning, stakeholder engagement, and operational readiness activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and actively execute strategic platform and market infrastructure initiatives across the project lifecycle, from scoping and requirements gathering through implementation, testing, rollout, and post-implementation support.
- Gather, analyse, challenge, prioritise, and document business requirements, workflows, operational processes, functional specifications, user journeys, and control considerations across business and technology teams.
- Review, design, and enhance post-trade workflows, operating models, settlement processes, custody and retirement-related processes, exception handling, and ecosystem connectivity requirements supporting Core Climate and related initiatives.
- Lead and participate in user acceptance testing, test planning, defect triage, issue resolution, implementation planning, migration or rollout preparation, production readiness assessment, and go-live support.
- Coordinate with and influence internal stakeholders across Post-Trade, Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance, Legal, and other business teams, as well as external vendors or service providers, to align priorities, resolve delivery issues, and drive outcomes.
- Prepare management updates, steering materials, implementation trackers, risk and dependency assessments, and decision papers to support governance forums, stakeholder alignment, and management decision-making.
- Identify and drive opportunities for workflow enhancement, platform optimisation, operational efficiency, control strengthening, and scalability across evolving market infrastructure initiatives.
- Monitor developments relating to market infrastructure, carbon markets, workflow innovation, operational enhancement, and climate-related ecosystem initiatives to support project delivery, product readiness, and implementation planning.
- Provide end-to-end delivery leadership for strategic initiatives while remaining directly involved in business analysis, requirements management, operating model design, testing, implementation planning, operational readiness, stakeholder engagement, and issue resolution activities.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Technology, Information Systems, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Significant relevant experience (typically 10+ years) in platform delivery, business analysis, operating model transformation, market infrastructure initiatives, or large-scale change programmes within financial services, exchanges, FMIs, fintech, or related sectors.
- Proven ability to independently lead and deliver complex initiatives, combining strategic oversight with hands-on execution across business analysis, delivery management, testing, implementation, and operational readiness.
- Strong experience in business analysis, workflow review, operating model assessment, process mapping, requirements management, and implementation coordination.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, operations, technology, risk, legal, and other cross-functional stakeholders, as well as external service providers.
- Ability to structure deliverables, manage dependencies, escalate issues appropriately, prepare clear management materials, and maintain delivery discipline in a regulated market infrastructure environment.
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving project environment with multiple concurrent initiatives, changing priorities, and the need to balance strategic direction with practical execution.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, and execution capabilities, with attention to detail, quality of documentation, and delivery timelines.
- Exposure to platform delivery, market infrastructure enhancement, ecosystem initiatives, or technology-enabled solutions supporting trading, clearing, settlement, custody, or related financial services workflows is advantageous.
- Familiarity with climate-related products, voluntary carbon markets, sustainable finance initiatives, or related market developments is advantageous.
- Excellent written and spoken English; Chinese language capability is preferred.
