Senior Underwriting Specialist

Prudential is seeking a Senior Underwriting Specialist to assess medical and financial risks of applicants for life and health insurance policies.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate the risk and exposures of potential clients.

Responsibilities:

• Assess medical and financial risks of applicants for life and health insurance policies
• Make decisions, within the given authority, that are consistent with underwriting standards and compatible with market trends
• Review cases with complex medical conditions and multiple risk factors
• Process customer requests end-to-end
• Provide support and services to Financial Consultants on matters relating to underwriting
• Be involved in ad hoc projects

Requirements:

• Sound knowledge of medical conditions, insurance laws, and regulations
• Good understanding of insurance products
• Customer-oriented, with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Confident in problem-solving and decision-making
• Possesses project management skills
• Proficient in MS Office

Experience:

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in life underwriting

Qualifications:

• ACII, ANZIIF, ALU, or LOMA

Education:

• Degree in Nursing or Biomedical Science/Engineering
