Purchase Officer

We are seeking a Purchase Officer to join our team at AVL SCHRICK Performance Components GmbH in Remscheid, Germany.

As a Purchase Officer, you will be responsible for the operative procurement of services, production parts, and production means for the mechanical production of prototype components. Your tasks will include:

• Creating and processing inquiries, obtaining and evaluating offers
• Setting up and tracking orders, including deadline monitoring
• Coordinating with suppliers and supporting supplier selection
• Close collaboration with sales, production, and production planning departments
• Managing and tracking external manufacturing orders and contract work
• Commercial handling of shipping processes, including support with customs and export issues
• Checking and processing incoming invoices
• Handling supplier complaints and supporting complaint management
• Maintaining supplier and material master data in the ERP system
• Supporting supplier evaluations and visits

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A completed commercial apprenticeship, such as industrial clerk, or a comparable qualification
• Initial professional experience in purchasing, ideally in a technical environment or in a manufacturing company
• Basic knowledge of procurement of technical products and services is beneficial
• Knowledge of import, export, and customs clearance is desirable
• Structured and meticulous working style, as well as pronounced organisational talent
• Strong communication skills, teamwork abilities, and a confident demeanour when dealing with suppliers and internal contacts
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications and experience with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision)
• Excellent German and English language skills in writing and speaking
• High level of initiative, reliability, and sense of responsibility
