Physical Therapist I - Acute Care

We are seeking a Physical Therapist I - Acute Care to join our team at Atrium Health Cabarrus. As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate, plan, direct, and administer programs of Physical Therapy (PT) in an inpatient acute level setting. Your goal will be to restore function, prevent disability, and help patients reach their maximum level of independence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct therapy services to patients admitted to a level of care where service provision is required 7 days a week, including holidays.
• Evaluate patients, select and administer assessment techniques, and synthesize information to establish an appropriate patient care plan.
• Gather and interpret data from the medical record, physician reports, patient, and/or family.
• Document evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient/family education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges as needed.
• Communicate patient's evaluation and subsequent progress to physician, referral sources, and other clinical staff.
• Coordinate patient's schedule and treatment programs, and discharge planning.
• Supervise PTA's and Rehab Tech/Aide as required for licensure.

Physical Requirements:

• Hearing (corrected) adequate for oral/aural communication.
• Vision (corrected) adequate for reading.
• Intelligible speech and adequate language/cognitive skills to perform job duties.
• Sitting, standing, and walking required throughout the day.
• Ability to lift patients, equipment, or supplies up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy program required.
• NC license for Physical Therapy required.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
