Description

Act as a liaison between the Quality and Manufacturing groups. Audit, enforce and train other associates on all aspects of the quality policy. Should be self-directed and work well with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read, interpret and understand blueprints using GD&T
  • Have general knowledge of several production processes and how parts are produced and how characteristics impact downstream customers
  • Hold non-conforming materials using inventory management
  • Sort through non-conforming material as necessary to aid in disposition
  • File and maintain in-process inspection reports
  • Assist Quality Technicians perform capability studies, Gage R&R’s and analyze process variances
  • Assist with running any extra testing required as part of validation process after quarantine
  • Problem solve and work with operations on shift to determine root cause of material on hold and make the appropriate changes to limit the amount of material placed on hold
  • Perform control plan audits and work with Quality Engineers to update control plans as needed
  • Perform Process/Product and LPA Audits
  • Issue gages to production as necessary
  • Assist with or answer 8D assignments on customer rejects
  • Update ICP’s as needed for various programs as assigned
  • Generate new form/work instructions/checksheets
  • Assist the Quality Manager and Quality Engineer as assigned and with PPAP’s
  • Fill in for Quality Technicians and Weld Analyst positions when needed
  • Make quality decisions on production parts when necessary
  • Assist with organization and set up of outside sort or rework activities (Vendor)
  • Assist and maintain internal sort criteria and instructions
  • Collect and input production information into Quality databases

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum two (2) years general or specific experience in this field
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents and statutes from jurisdictional agencies and governmental units, procedure and policy manuals, contracts and agreements
  • Ability to write instructions, procedures, policies, reports and various correspondences
  • Ability to speak and present effectively in one-on-one, and in small and large group settings, as well as before customers, government and regulatory agencies
  • Apply mathematical concepts in statistical analysis, design of experiments, and part variations
  • Apply common sense understanding and create instructions, reports and analysis from data or statues furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Interpret and apply laws and regulations to situations
  • Negotiate with associates and business entities
  • Superior interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to communicate with diverse personalities is tactful, mature and flexible
  • Good reasoning abilities, sound judgment, resourceful and well organized
  • Establish credibility and be decisive, while supporting personnel and the organizations preferences and priorities

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to feel or handle objects, tools or controls; reach and lift with hands and arms; talk, see and hear
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • May need to be available during off hours if needed, and have the flexibility to work various shift hours and/or extended hours if needed

Work Environment:

  • Occasionally works near machinery and moving parts
  • Exposed to the risk of electromagnetic fields, risk of electric shock and vibration
  • Required to travel and stay overnight on occasion
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, but will be loud when in the production environment
