Description
You'll join Arc's Infrastructure Engineering team and own support and operations for their laboratory information management system (LIMS).
The LIMS is used by Arc's scientists to record samples and experiments, including variables changed between experiments. Your role involves running the request queue, making schema changes, training users, and maintaining data checks.
You don't need LIMS experience; strong Python and SQL skills and an interest in lab data are essential. You'll start under the lab platform Tech Lead, who will review your work and mentor you.
Key responsibilities:
- Run the request queue for Arc's lab data systems
- Support templates scientists use to record experiments and command-line tools for data analysis
- Conduct training sessions for scientists and write documentation
- Build and maintain checks for errors in data entry
- Help refactor the team and permission structure in the LIMS
- Automate recurring requests
By the end of your first year, you will:
- Build tools for querying screen and experiment metadata
- Run the request queue and ship schema changes independently
- Own a part of the lab platform from design through support
