Description

Anthropic's Safeguards team builds systems to detect and mitigate misuse of AI models. We're seeking a Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer to own the infrastructure behind this research, focusing on scaling, reliability, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have experience with large-scale machine learning systems, data-intensive applications, and building tooling for researchers. You will:

  • Develop and scale infrastructure and data pipelines for Safeguards machine learning research
  • Optimize training, evaluation, and scoring workflows for researchers
  • Design user-friendly tooling and interfaces for researchers
  • Ensure correctness and trustworthiness of results as models evolve
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to understand workflow needs

Requirements include strong software engineering skills, experience with Python, and building data-intensive systems. Preferred qualifications include experience with high-performance machine learning, language modeling, and transformer internals.

The annual compensation range for this role is $350,000-$500,000 USD.
