Electrician

We are seeking an electrically qualified trades person to join our team of operatives at the Eastgate Shopping Centre in Basildon. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for undertaking planned preventative maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and building fabric within a retail property environment and offices.

Main Duties:

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the Contract Manager, including fault finding, testing, repairing, and preventative maintenance of electrical building services equipment.
• Close and update completed PPM tasks on the site computerized maintenance system.
• Ensure engineering standards are maintained to maximize the operation effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated systems.
• Carry out small electrical installation work.
• Adhere to company QA and site procedures.
• Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
• Inspect the condition of services and proactively deal with call-outs and repairs.
• Attend site emergencies outside of normal working hours.
• Carry out tasks in plant room environments and at high levels, using provided access equipment and PPE.
• Keep company-issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner.
• Work towards the continued success and support of the contract.

Requirements:

• City & Guilds/NVQ in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Installation/Maintenance or equivalent.
• City & Guilds 2391 Electrical Test & Inspection.
• City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition IEE.
• Demonstrable knowledge of building services engineering.
• Previous experience working in a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
