Job Overview
As a Senior Kotlin/JVM Engineer at Lendable, you will be part of a team building the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money. Lendable is a leading fintech company with a strong presence in the UK and US, offering loans, credit cards, and car finance products.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of your work and make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1
- Work in small teams of exceptional people, challenging the status quo to solve problems and find smarter solutions
- Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning, and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting
- Deliver elegant, idiomatic solutions in Kotlin or Java, contributing new knowledge and experience to collaborative design forums
- Integrate new APIs, tune existing services, support expansion of new products, and support services in the US
Requirements
- Strong commercial Kotlin or JVM-based engineering experience
- Ability to write simple, clean code
- Experience and understanding of databases, including relational databases and NoSQL
- Ability to quickly understand complex, financial business domains
- Understanding of different software architectures
- Ability to write comprehensive, automated tests at all levels
- Understanding of the Kanban agile methodology
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with GraphQL
- Experience with AWS, Postgres, RabbitMQ, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of React, React Native, TypeScript, MobX, Redux, Stylus, and SASS
