Lead Software Engineer, Backend

As a Lead Software Engineer, Backend, you will build high-performing solutions that provide stability and efficiency for millions of daily users.

Responsibilities:

• Design scalable, zero-downtime network traffic routing and analytics solutions for Grab's public edge.
• Improve and shape new design architectures with a focus on scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with the infrastructure team to build back-end services.
• Design, build, analyze, and troubleshoot large-scale systems.
• Debug and modify production software catering to millions of users across Southeast Asia.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a backend language such as Go, Scala, Java, or C++.
• Solid software engineering and coding skills.
• Understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and message queuing systems.
• Experience with relational databases, such as MySQL.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control, unit testing, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, and the internet.
• Experience deploying code in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
