Description
WSP is currently seeking a Sr. Mechanical Technician to work at Fort George G. Meade Army Base in Fort Meade, MD.
The successful candidate will perform mechanical engineering design and production support from project inception through construction. They will leverage analytical and design skills to solve complex technical problems in the mechanical engineering discipline.
Key responsibilities include:
- Utilising advanced analytical techniques and computer software tools such as AutoCAD and Trace 3D Plus to solve technical/mechanical engineering problems.
- Performing engineering studies, requirements development, and programming.
- Conducting engineering site investigations and evaluations.
- Developing facility criteria and requirements.
- Preparing construction and installation plans, specifications, and safety plans.
- Collaborating with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
- Ensuring project work conforms to specifications, permit applications, and regulatory requirements.
- Preparing technical reports and presentations.
- Maintaining quality control standards and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A high school diploma; a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
- 11+ years of experience in preparing Mechanical Engineering design plans.
- A US Government-issued Secret clearance.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD design software.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and processes.
- Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
- Familiarity with relevant mechanical system and construction laws, codes, and regulations.

The expected salary range is $49.38/hour - $60.00/hour.
