Description
Mable is hiring a Head of Analytics to set the direction for analytics across the business. You will work with the executive team on strategy, lead a team of 8 managers and analysts, and make sure our analysis, dashboards and models produce measurable commercial results.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Setting the analytics strategy and roadmap for Mable, in line with company priorities.
- Working with the executive team and senior leaders to answer the business’s hardest questions with data.
- Representing Data on the Mable executive team, providing insights and advice and disseminating context to your team.
- Bringing stakeholders insights before they ask, so analytics shapes decisions rather than reporting on them afterwards.
- Leading analytics teams that support every part of Mable.
- Working with product leaders so analytics is part of how every squad plans and builds.
- Finding and leading work that raises revenue or cuts costs, and measuring the result.
- Leading the delivery of dashboards, models and tools that teams across the business use and rely on.
- Setting priorities across several areas: settling competing requests, warning stakeholders early about delays and fixing problems when work slips.
- Researching and driving best practices across our data platform.
- Leading how your team uses AI to analyse data faster, automate reporting and give more of the business direct access to insights, within Attain’s AI governance framework.
- Coaching your team through weekly one-to-ones, prompt feedback and plain conversations about performance and development.
- Sharing knowledge and mentoring people across the wider data function.
Requirements:
- At least eight years using data to inform decisions, including three or more leading analytics teams.
- Evidence that your analysis changed executive decisions and delivered measurable revenue or cost results.
- Confidence with executives, and the ability to settle competing priorities without escalating them.
- Curiosity, and the judgement to turn loosely defined problems into clear questions and answers.
- The ability to explain complex analysis simply to people without a technical background.
- Curious and able to confidently express advice and opinions outside of strictly data analysis to drive decisions forward.
- A record of coaching people, giving candid feedback and hiring well.
- Sound judgement on data governance, privacy and risk, ideally in a regulated sector.
- Practical experience using AI in analytics work, and sound judgement on where it helps, where it falls short and how to govern its use.
- Enough skill in SQL and Tableau (or similar) to guide and review your team’s work.
- Experience in health, care, marketplaces or fast-growing technology firms is useful but not essential.
Benefits:
- Learn from industry experts, experienced leaders, and on-the-job opportunities.
- Access parental leave: 14 weeks of paid leave for primary carers and 6 weeks of paid leave for secondary carers plus superannuation.
- Work with flexibility: hybrid workplace, balancing time in the office with remote work.
- Flexi Leave Days: one extra paid leave day per quarter for what makes you happy.
- Take a floating public holiday: acknowledge a significant day your way with family and friends.
- Celebrate wins and recognise great performance with an easy and accessible Reward and Recognition program.
