Description
Discord's Enterprise Technology org is building a software engineering discipline from the ground up, focusing on making internal systems scalable. As a Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise Platform, you will define this discipline, set the technical foundation, and build a platform for self-service software.
Your role involves replacing manual processes with a platform of reusable primitives, such as provisioning devices or pushing IAM policies through code, exposed via clean APIs and self-service portals. You will design abstractions to hide complexities of Okta, Jamf, and Terraform behind user-friendly interfaces.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the device fleet as code
- Automating the identity layer
- Owning app delivery and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Building the self-service layer
- Setting the technical foundation and architecture for the discipline
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in building and operating production software and systems
- Strong software engineering fundamentals
- Deep experience with IAM, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD
- Experience with endpoint and fleet management as an API-driven engineering surface
- A platform-as-a-product mindset
Preferred qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Okta, Jamf, or Intune
- Experience with identity and access governance for non-human principals
- Background at a high-growth consumer tech company
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000 to $279,000 + equity + benefits.
