Maintenance Press Shop Technician

Multimatic Inmet is looking for a Maintenance Press Shop Technician. The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager, demonstrating model behaviour and communicating openly and effectively with the team.

The Maintenance Press Shop Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting stamping presses, ensuring smooth and efficient operation throughout the midnight shift.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on stamping presses
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to minimise downtime
• Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory
• Ensure machines produce quality parts
• Conduct daily preventative maintenance
• Participate in continuous improvement activities
• Perform other duties as required
• Work safely at all times
• Comply with IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards
• Adhere to all legislative requirements of the OHSA

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing or press shop environment
• Basic electrical knowledge or current apprenticeship as an electrician or pre-apprentice
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organisation and planning skills
• Previous experience with stamping presses or industrial machinery is an asset
• Formal training or certification in electrical systems is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with all team members
• Night shift work required (10:30PM – 6:40AM)
• Flexibility with hours; role involves training on day shift before moving to night shift
