Legal Counsel, Litigation and Copyright

Spotify's Legal team is growing, focusing on litigation, copyright, patent, and other contentious matters. As Legal Counsel, Litigation, you will work on various cases, develop strategies, and collaborate with the business to balance legal risk with company objectives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate litigation, pre-litigation, regulatory, and dispute matters across multiple practice areas.
• Develop case strategies with outside counsel and manage budgets.
• Partner with the business on litigation and legal risk issues.
• Provide proactive advice on dispute avoidance and resolution.
• Identify and mitigate threats against the company.
• Handle requests for information from the company.
• Build scalable processes to address growing claims.
• Train teams and draft workflows and policies.
• Stay current on developments in patent and copyright law.

Requirements

• Law degree from a top-flight law school, qualified to practice law in New York.
• 5+ years of litigation experience, including patent litigation.
• Experience with e-discovery and managing complex disputes.
• Ability to evaluate patent claims and work with technical experts.
• Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of music, media, tech, IP, and consumer issues is a plus.

Salary

The United States base range for this position is $170,366 to 243,380, plus equity.
