Compensation
The expected base pay range for this role is $120K – $185K, with additional compensation options including equity and bonus.
How you'll make impact
As a Senior GRC Specialist, you'll act as the regional anchor for Mexico City, integrating closely with Airwallex's global Information Security team. You'll report to the Senior GRC Manager and serve as a regional point of contact for government and regulatory bodies in Mexico.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and monitoring security controls to a high standard, continuously refining and iterating.
- Serving as a trusted contact for Mexican regulatory bodies, customers, partners, and vendors.
- Using AI and automation to streamline compliance and security work, including reporting and communications.
- Developing and maintaining security documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Acting as a subject matter expert and generalist for security compliance in the Mexico region.
- Driving initiatives independently with project management experience.
What we're looking for
Essentials
- 5–7 years of cybersecurity experience, with a proven ability to work independently.
- Mexican Tax ID (RFC) or dual Mexican citizenship required.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, written and spoken.
- Deep knowledge of compliance and control frameworks such as PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2.
- Strong familiarity with Information Security concepts, practices, and solutions.
- Working knowledge of policy creation and maintenance, including tuning policies for complex regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing the implementation and monitoring of security controls.
- Ability to develop and maintain security documentation.
Preferred
- Prior experience in the fintech industry.
- Knowledge of security compliance specific to the finance industry or the Mexican or LATAM region.
- Understanding of financial services or payments.
- Experience applying AI and automation to compliance, security operations, reporting, or communications.
- Industry-leading security degree or certification.
